Remarks:

Originally from Lot-et-Garonne, the sculptor settles in Paris where he becomes Bourdelle’s student. From 1900, he frequently exhibits at the Salon des Artistes Français. He is granted a third class medal in 1901, a second class medal in 1911 and finally the gold medal in 1922. He receives many public commissions, in particular for war memorials after First World War (in Nevers, Agen, Lavardac, Vianne, Aiguillon…) as well as for monumental sculptures in various cities. For the 1937 International Exposition of Art and Technology in Modern Life in Paris, he creates in situ a monumental work entitled “The Woman” in sandstone. Which can still be seen today above the Trocadero basins in Paris.
