Male Torso « Human Size »
Original bronze proof representing a a nude man’s torso in the Greco-Roman tradition. The sculpture is standing on a rectangular bronze base. This sculpture was created around 1935 in the context of the commission in 1933 of the Apollo, central figure of the Sun Fountain ordered by the city of Nice for its famous Massena square.
Our sculpture was also the source for the creation of the Athlete of the Lescure Stadium in Bordeaux in 1939.

Certificate :
This bronze proof is one of the twelve legal proofs realised after the death of the artist, from the plaster of the artist’s workshop (Demeurisse collection). It is done in similar conditions than when Janniot was alive. It will be accompanied with a certificate from Galerie Michel Giraud, according to the artist’s legal successor Mrs Anne Demeurisse, who authorized the posthumous edition of this sculpture.
