Vase With Two Handles

Ceramic top shape vase with a white crackled covert on brown backdrop. This work in white milky enamel presents alternated friezes decoration, the central ornamentation resting on the superior flank shows a leaved design. The three others friezes all different are made of vertical incisions in the spirit of the mechanical milling. At the neck’s top start two handles.

Remarks :

From 1925, Besnard developed his decorative repertoire with friezes cut directly into the surface of unfired enamel pieces. His unique new style was often compared to African woven baskets. His palette ranged from powdery white to turquoise and more rarely included brown orange.
