Biography:

Ofer Josef was born in Tel Aviv (Israel) in 1965. He left his homeland to enter the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris at the age of 17. He was one of the youngest students to be admitted. Fascinated by felines, he spent his days at the zoo observing them and painting colourful animal scenes. After collaborating with several European galleries, he pursued his dream of observing them in their natural environment and moved to a village of 80 inhabitants on the banks of the Rio Negro in Amazonia. This human adventure lasted almost 20 years, during which he devoted himself exclusively to graphite on drawing paper. Today, he divides his time between Brazil and Portugal. His work has evolved from graphite to Indian ink.
