Brown and Ochre Square Bottle

A Japanese-inspired square bottle with a small straight neck and cut corners, covered in an irregular brown-ochre glaze.

Signed in intaglio under the base.

Circa: 1910-11.

Height:  7 ½ in.           Length: 3 ½ in.              Depth:  3 ½ in.

Remarks :

This artwork enters the period of the beginning of the 10s, which is characterized by decorative researches lying on the richness of materials. Unctuous drips cover then vases with simplified shapes, linking the Art Nouveau period to the Art Deco one.
